IMPORTANT: When using Banorte, you must make the advance tuition payment two working days before the registration date. Payments made at BBVA, HSBC, Banamex, and Santander will appear in the Account Statement 30 minutes after the deposit is made. Banorte payments will be reflected in 24 hours.

What is a unit?

A unit is the course’s hours per class ratio. A course is normally 6 units for undergraduate. An undergraduate student enrolls in an average of 6 courses per semester, equivalent to 36 units

How can I calculate the cost of my semester?

The cost of the UDLAP unit is $2,900* mexican pesos for all undergraduate programs. To calculate the tuition, multiply the number of registered academic units by the unit cost. The minimum number of units to take is 30 per semester (5 courses of 6 units).

Example for a semester tuition
$2,900* x 30 units = $87,000 mexican pesos (minimum number of required units)
$2,900* x 36 units = $104,400 mexican pesos (average number of units)

What payments do I have to make?

Before Starting Classes

Tuition advance $17,400 mexican pesos (6 units)

IMPORTANT: The tuition advance payment made through banks must be made two business days prior to the registration date. Payments made at BBVA, HSBC, Banamex, and Santander will appear on the student's Account Statement 30 minutes after payment.

Medical exam $1,400 mexican pesos (one-time fee)

You must pay for this exam at the UDLAP Unicaja before January 9th, 2020. Students of the undergraduate program for Medical Surgeon are exempt of this payment.

All new students who take their medical exam after their first registered period will have to pay a penalty fee of $700 mexican pesos.

One-time admission fee payment $11,900 mexican pesos (one-time fee).

You pay this fee just once when enrolling in the undergraduate program. It must be paid before January 9th, 2020.

One-Time Admission Fee for Residential Colleges $4,170 mexican pesos (one-time fee)

This payment is for students who enroll in the residential colleges Cain-Murray, Ray Lindley, Ignacio Bernal and José Gaos.

You pay this fee once, whether you live in residential colleges during your entire university career or only for one or more semesters.

SEP Fee of $90 mexican pesos (cost per enrolled period.) Fee subject to change without notice

This payment must be made before January 24th, 2020.

Health Insurance payment (GNP) $3,400 mexican pesos (cost per semester)

This payment is only for students that do not validate their current private insurance policy for major medical expenses, whitin the established periods by the UDLAP insurance area. This charge will be reflected on the account statement for February 2020, with a deadline for payment on February 20th, 2020.

Payments Due After the Start of the Semester

Payment of pending tuition balance and, if applicable, balance of university colleges (per enrolled period)

Use one of the following payment methods:


Cash payment

Pay the tuition balance, residential colleges balance (if applicable), or other pending fees on January 22nd to 24th.


Deferred payments

Make four payments for tuition and residential colleges (if applicable), assuming a financial cost of 3.2% monthly interest over the unpaid balance.

1st payment: January 28th - 31st
2nd payment: February 24th - 28th
3rd payment: March 25th - 31st
4th payment: Abril 24th - 30th

You must consult the monthly payment amounts from the first day of payment on your student’s account statement at http://intranet.udlap.mx/estadodecuenta/. If the monthly payments are not made on time, a monthly 6% arrears interest will be charged on the outstanding balance.

At the Bank

To pay at the bank, you must include the account or agreement number and student bank reference.

Cash: Payments made during business hours at BBVA, HSBC, Banamex, and Santander will be seen on the student’s account statement in 30 minutes. Banorte payments will be reflected in 24 hours.

Check: Issued to Fundación Universidad de las Américas, Puebla. Checks from the same bank deposited during business hours in BBVA, HSBC, Banamex, and Santander will be reflected on the student´s account statement within 30 minutes, checks from different banks destined for HSBC, Banamex, BBVA and Santander will be reflected on the student's account statement of student in 24 hours, checks from other banks to Banorte will be reflected in 48 hours.

Electronic Payment

  • Multi-payment: Go to www.udlap.mx and click on direct access (“accesos directos”); select Electronic Payment (Pago Electrónico), and follow the instructions. The payment will appear in the student’s account statement immediately.
  • Bank Webpages (service payments): Operations made during bank business hours at BBVA , HSBC, Banamex and Santander, will appear on the student’s account statement in 30 minutes. Those made in Banorte will clear in 24 hours.
  • ATM: payments made during bank business hours at BBVA , and HSBC, will appear on the student’s account statement in 30 minutes.

Payment at UDLAP Unicaja

Located in Building 1, Office 109. Business hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 17:00 h. The payments will clear immediately and you can make them as follows:

  • Cash: for up to $5,800 mexican pesos, equivalent to two undergraduate units.
  • Check: issued to Fundación Universidad de las Américas, Puebla.
  • Credit Card: VISA and MasterCard with an administrative fee of 2.18% and American Express with an administrative fee of 4.43%.
  • Debit Card: no administrative fee.
  • Direct Billing: to a checking or debit account, American Express credit card (administrative fee of 4.43%), VISA or MasterCard (administrative fee of 2.18%).

To obtain this service, the cardholder or account holder must sign the authorization form at the UDLAP Unicaja.


IMPORTANT: You must renew the direct billing service each academic period, except for students with Banorte student loans.

Can I pay for the Residential Colleges in cash and for tuition in monthly payments ?

No. However, you can make advance payments, which will apply indistinctly to the oldest charges. Making anticipated payments reduces the amount due for financial interest fees.
